Your Cycle around Kilimanjaro tour takes you through Tanzania’s lush green forests to dry bush lands, remote villages to bustling towns and from lakeside shores to plantations. You will cycle along rough dirt roads and smooth tarmac roads under the hot tropical sun. Cyclists are provided packed/hot lunches every day during the tour and there are several rest stops where cyclists can take a breather and have some fruits and snacks. The tour incorporates different aspects of Tanzania’s attractions including the beautiful scenery, diverse cultures and amazing wildlife hence making it more than an ordinary biking tour. Camping grounds are equipped with all the essentials amenities including proper flush toilets, showers and enough security. Accommodation can be updated to lodging at your request with some extra cost.

DAY 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha
Touch down at the Kilimanjaro International Airport where your own personal driver will be waiting to greet you. Let your driver whisk you away to your chosen hotel in the bright and bustling city of Arusha – gateway to Tanzania.
Arusha is the beating heart of the wild – the last port of civilization before heading out into dense jungles and rich savannah plains. The markets of Arusha burst with color, and throng with locals picking up their weekly wares. The numerous cafes sell dark and deliriously good coffee from the plantations, and close by the infamous National Park lures visitors in to explore her evocative Maasai culture and exotic flora and fauna.
DAY 2: From Arusha to Moshi
After breakfast, your bike tour guide will meet you where he will give you a short briefing of your next day tour. Bicycle fitting will be done to make sure you get the bike that suits you best. For that matter you will be prepared to start cycling the following. You can relax in Arusha, recover from your journey, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Africa. Meals and overnight at your hotel.
DAY 3: From Kidia (1300m) to Lake Chala (1000m)
After breakfast, you will be transferred by your vehicle to Kidia where the bike ride starts. Kidia village is nestled in the foothills of Kilimanjaro and is set in lush tropical forest directly on the boundary of Kilimanjaro National Park. You will cycle from Kidia to Lake Chala which is a crater lake on the eastern edge of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Lake Chala Campsite.

DAY 4: Lake Chala (1000m) to Nalemoru (1800m)
After breakfast, you will cycle with packed lunch to Nalemoru village near the starting point for the Rongai route treks. Dinner and overnight at Snow Cap Cottages campsite.

DAY 5: Nalemoru (1800m) to West Kilimanjaro (1300m)
After breakfast, you will start cycling from Snow Cap Cottages then around Mt. Kilimanjaro through the northern side to West Kilimanjaro. You will spend the night at the Olpopongi Cultural Maasai Village. This day adds a cultural aspect to the cycling tour whereby you will be able to experience Maasai culture first hand by staying at an authentic Maasai village. The terrain is pretty dry and you should look forward to a long & hot day ahead. Dinner and overnight at Olpopongi Masai Cultural Village.

DAY 6: West Kilimanjaro (1300m) to Moshi (1000m)
After breakfast, you will cycle from Olpopongi Maasai village to Arusha via Moshi. You will start of on dirt road for a few kilometers till you reach the tarmac road which will continue till the end point. The route will be less challenging as you will be cycling down the hill almost all the way. Thereafter, evening transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
